Golf Legend Phil Mickelson to Sell $6 Million Rancho Santa Fe Estate

Even if you don't follow golf, you've heard of Phil Mickelson. That's because the 44-year-old professional is considered one of the greatest golfers of his generation – if not of all time. Since turning pro, Mickelson has won more than forty PGA events. He won the PGA Championship in 2005, and then the Open Championship in 2013. Oh yeah, plus he won three Masters in 2004, 2006, and 2010.

When you're one of golf's all-time greats (and have won more than $75 million in prize money throughout your career), it's almost a given that you're going to have somewhere nice to call home – and Phil Mickelson is no exception. Luckily for us (at least any of us with pretty deep pockets), Mickelson has recently listed his five-bedroom, six-and-a-half-bathroom Rancho Santa Fe mansion with a price tag of $5,999,950.

Offering more than 9,000 square feet of living area, Mickelson's one-story Tuscan-style residence was built in 2001 and boasts countless hand-crafted and unique features throughout. To give you a quick idea of what kind of luxury we're talking about, the home comes equipped with seven separate fireplaces, including some hand-carved from Canterra stone.

The home's flooring holds true to its Old World aesthetic charm, with distressed walnut hardwood flowing from room-to-room. There are also open-beam truss ceilings, hand-cut mosaic tiling, Albertini doors and windows, honed granite, and hand-crafted custom walnut cabinetry.

Built for entertaining guests, the gourmet kitchen has both a center island and a huge wrap-around marble counter that has enough space to prepare and serve even the largest of meals. On top of all that, the kitchen opens up into a massive great room with vaulted ceilings, large glass doors and windows, and beautiful views of the surrounding hillside.

No matter how nice you think the kitchen is, however, prepare to be amazed even further by the home's master suite. From its open beam ceiling to its off-set sitting room, you'd be hard-pressed to ever feel claustrophobic in there. When you add in the master bathroom's equally spacious size and exquisitely crafted marble and glass shower, you may just never want to leave.

Out back, Mickelson's home gets even better, with an outdoor kitchen, Italian-tile-lined pool, rows of citrus trees, and luscious green lawn areas. There's also a separate guest house with two en-suite bedrooms of its own. The property also has both a four-car garage attached, and a separate one-car space that's detached. Don't forget about the (almost expected) three-hole putting green, ideal for anyone wanting to hone their golf skills like a pro.
