Solana Beach School To Host Veterans Day Celebration On Wednesday, November 13th

On Wednesday, November 13th, Santa Fe Christian Schools in Solana Beach will host its annual Veterans Day Celebration. Beginning with a continental breakfast at 9:30 a.m., the day's scheduled events will include performances by the school's band and choir, as well as a speech by Captain Guy M. Lee USN 1st Division Chaplain for the First Marine Division.

Having recently returned from a one-year duty of service in Afghanistan, Captain Lee is currently stationed at Camp Pendleton. While overseas, he served at the Regional Command's Senior Chaplain. Captain Lee attended school at the Talbot School of Theology, as well as at Fuller Theological Seminary.

In addition to Captain Lee, the Miramar AFB Color Guard will also be in attendance for the Presentation of the Colors.

The day's festivities will be held in the Santa Fe Christian Schools' gym and is open to all students and their families. Also welcomed are all of the community's current and past members of the armed services as well as their families.

Santa Fe Christian Schools is a private, college preparatory school which was founded in 1977. Located on 17.5 acres, the school has an enrollment of around 1,000 students ranging from Kindergarten to grade 12. There were 103 members of the school's graduating class of 2013 with an average classroom size of 20 students.
