With a population of over 240,000 people, Chula Vista is the second largest city in the greater San Diego area. Located just south of San Diego, the city offers plenty of rich history as well as a one-of-a-kind atmosphere that is unique to the area. The city is also home to a number of medical, aerospace engineering and education companies

Chula Vista is translated into "beautiful view" in the Spanish language and the view afforded at various points throughout the city serve as proof of the city living up to its name. In recent times, the city has become a rather popular tourist destination thanks to a number of notable attractions, including the Sleep Train Amphitheatre, Chula Vista Marina and San Diego Bay.

What is there to do in Chula Vista, CA

The Third Avenue Village serves as the cultural heart of the city, offering a wide array of public events along with excellent dining and entertainment options. On Stage Playhouse, also operates from the Third Avenue Village as the area's only live theater. Other popular things to do include spending a hot afternoon at Knott's Soak City, viewing aquatic wildlife at the Chula Vista Nature Center and enjoying live concert performances at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre.

The city also offers a wide variety of recreational activities for those who enjoy the outdoors. Bayside Park and Chula Vista Bayfront Park offer spectacular views of the San Diego Bay. Other parks within the city include Discovery Park and Terra Nova Park. The 78-acre Otay Lake County Park also draws in crowds from eastern Chula Vista and other parts of the city. Public transportation is provided throughout the city courtesy of the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System.

Thanks to the city's overall size, prospective homebuyers can find an abundant variety of homes for sale within the area. Many of the neighborhoods within Chula Vista proper feature the typical California bungalows and ranch-style homes. Eastlake, Rancho del Rey and Otay Ranch offer a superb mix of semi-rural and suburban living with more varied home architecture. Prospective buyers can expect most of the real estate properties offered for sale to have undergone renovations within the past few years.
