Linda Vista, California has a rich history that dates back over 50 years. The name means "pretty view" in Spanish and it is just that with its beautiful views of the mesa. The community first came about in 1940 and was used to house aircraft workers. Linda Vista is well known for its quality schools in the San Diego School District. The University Of San Diego also falls within city limits. It was the first community that featured a mall type shopping center.
It consisted of not only shops, but a movie theater and was dedicated to Eleanor Roosevelt. The University of San Diego is also in Linda Vista, which is a private college that sits on one of San Diego's highest hills.
Linda Vista offers a variety of housing types including single family homes, condos, townhomes and duplexes. Due to the area being on one of the highest hills in the County, many residences over look Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean to the west and Tecolote Canyon to the northwest.
The city of Linda Vista has a good mix of residents. There are many families that dwell in the many single family homes. There are also college students that make up a good portion of the apartments in the city. Even senior citizens enjoy living in Linda Vista and partaking in all it has to offer.
