Talmadge is a dynamic and vibrant neighborhood within the city of San Diego. Located just a few minutes away from the downtown area, the neighborhood offers a comfortable and quiet respite from the busy pace of city life. Most of the residents are actively involved in the community's affairs, from volunteer neighborhood watches to participation in the community council. Such activities foster a close-knit and safe environment for residents and visitors alike.

Established by real estate developers Roy and Guy Lichty in 1925, the Talmadge neighborhood is named in honor of Norma, Natalie and Constance Talmadge. The three sisters were well-known silent film stars throughout the 1920s and each sister had a street named after them in the Talmadge Park area. The area is often combined with neighboring Kensington for administrative purposes, earning the area its unique nickname, "Ken-Tal."

Much of the real estate in Talmadge is considered valuable due to its historical significance. Nevertheless, anyone looking to owning a home in the area will be able to find excellent deals. The homes for sale in this neighborhood offer a variety of architecture, from Spanish Revival houses to California bungalows and Normandy-style homes. Many of these homes were designed by renowned Southern California architect Cliff May. Homebuyers will find comfortable accommodations in their new homes as well as excellent conveniences, including modern appliances, granite counter tops and revamped home decor.
