Del Mar's Winter Wonderland Events Span The Month Of December

Downtown Del Mar will be getting just a little bit jollier during the month of December with their Winter Wonderland event, Holidays in the Heart of Del Mar Village. Three days of festivities throughout the month will feature everything from a holiday photo booth to real snow, as well as special appearances and meet & greets with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Holidays in the Heart of Del Mar Village will kick off on Saturday, December 7th from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. at the western corner of Camino Del Mar, 15th Street and the Del Mar Plaza. Some of the afternoon's festivities include:

  • A holiday photo booth featuring ugly sweaters and goofy props
  • Real snow at St. Peters Church
  • Holiday cookie samples and competition at Del Mar Village Restaurant
  • Dance presentations on the Ocean View Deck at the Del Mar Plaza
  • Musical performances from the Original Dickens Carolers

Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be making appearances at the event, so visitors are encouraged to bring their cameras and snap pictures with the holiday duo.

The day's festivities will come to a close at 5 p.m. with a tree lighting ceremony at , following by an outdoor 5:15 p.m. showing of the holiday comedy, “Elf”.

The seasonal celebration will continue over the following two weekends on Sunday, December 15th and Saturday, December 21st. Holiday-spirited residents are welcomed from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. at the L'Auberge Amphitheater for more singing performances by the Original Dickens Carolers and for more photo opportunities with the Claus family during “Santa by the Sea”.
