The Crown Point area is all about the beach life. Mission Bay Park is over 4,200 acres and contains 19 miles of beaches. The park features a variety of outdoor activities, including swimming, surfing, and waterskiing. The park also includes a children's playground, jogging trails, and picnic facilities, along with fire pits. At the north end, a nature preserve houses endangered birds and fish. The Crown Point area of the park is a favorite because residents can hold parties for up to 400 people at this section. Crown Point North is right by the nature preserve and features picnic pavilions and a sandy beach, while Crown Point South offers the widest beach on the Bay, in addition to picnic areas and fire pits.
