According to the latest data for existing recent home sales in October from the San Diego Association of Realtors the average sales price for attached homes was $306,342 and $534,963. These figures grew 15.23% and 14% since October 2011.
According to BankRate.com the average rate for a 30 year fixed mortgage dropped again to just 3.4%. Based on a $300,000 home purchase with 20% down, that's a monthly principal and interest payment of just $1,064, much less than renting for many.
