Oceanside - Feeding The Soul Foundation To Host Three Charity Concerts In December

Feeding the Soul Foundation, an Oceanside-based organization which combines music with charitable giving, will be hosting three concerts during December to wind down its long year of events.

A Family Dinner – Friday, December 13th

Jitters Coffee Pub at 510 N Coastal Highway, Oceanside will be the site of a dinner, fundraiser and food drive benefiting Brother Benno's, an outreach group which extends a helping hand to North County low-income families and senior citizens, as well as the area's disabled and homeless. A Family Dinner will feature a five-course meal prepared by top local chefs Ian Grove, Chassie Bell and Vallie Gilley. Following dinner and drinks, acoustic musician and songwriter Dawn Mitschele will perform at the intimate venue. The cost for the dinner and evening of music and giving is $100 and the doors will open at 6 p.m. with dinner being served promptly at 6:30 p.m.

Holiday Party – Saturday, December 14th

December 14th will feature a night of music and refreshments at the Oceanside Museum of Art at 704 Pier View Way. Proceeds from the event will benefit the museum and attendees are encouraged to bring an art supply item for donation. The Holiday pARTy will feature music from a number of bands and musicians, including Bushwalla, Jack Tempchin, Andy Powers, Michael Tiernan and Lee Coulter. Refreshments, appetizers and desserts will be provided for guests. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the performances beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is $50, or $45 with the donation of an art supply.

A Show For Teens – Sunday, December 15th

Jitters Coffee Pub will serve as host to the Feeding The Soul Foundation's final event of the year on December 15th. A Show For Teens is an all-ages focused event with 15-year old local acoustic star Cody Lovaas. This event will benefit Spirit of Sharing, an organization which collects donations for Southern California active-duty military families. Jitters Coffee Pub will be providing cookies, brownies and other treats for attendees to the concert. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and the performance will last from 4 – 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $30, or $25 with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy.

Feeding the Soul Foundation organizes charitable events benefiting non-profits and charities throughout the North County. The organization focuses on combining food and music with their giving, but has also exnteded sponsorship to a number of other causes such as environmental conservation and back-to-school support.
